On Thursday, August 1, 2024, students from Team II of the Community Service Program (KKN) of Diponegoro University (UNDIP), Vocational School, Industrial Electrical Engineering Program, conducted a safety education session on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) focusing on electrical hazards for 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade students at Pakumbulan Elementary School, Buaran District, Pekalongan Regency. The program aimed to raise children’s awareness of the risks associated with electricity in their environment, especially in play areas near electrical installations in Pakumbulan Village.

The session included presentations, educational videos, and the distribution of OHS posters on electrical hazards. Additionally, the students held practical demonstrations of series and parallel electrical circuits, giving the elementary students hands-on experience with basic electrical concepts. The program was well-received, with students actively participating in the activities and enthusiastically engaging in the simulations.

Mr. Yudha Nugroho, a teacher at Pakumbulan Elementary School, expressed his appreciation for the initiative. “The KKN program at SDN Pakumbulan has provided valuable knowledge to the students,” he said.

The positive responses from both students and teachers highlight the importance of such initiatives in reducing the risk of electrical accidents. The UNDIP Community Service students hope that through this program, the elementary students of Pakumbulan will have a better understanding of workplace safety and become more conscious of their surroundings, especially regarding electrical hazards.
