An encouraging initiative has been carried out by lecturers from the Department of Industrial Electrical Engineering at the Vocational School in Central Java. These dedicated lecturers not only teach classes, but they also make a real contribution to society by creating homemade lamps branded “Vokalite”. Rembes Village, located in Bringin, Semarang, has been the beneficiary of this extraordinary community service. In an effort to improve the quality of life and illuminate the dark streets in the village, the lecturers developed lamps with advanced but environmentally friendly technology. These lamps not only provide bright light, but are also energy efficient, which is very important for rural communities. With the Vokalite brand, these lights not only provide security for village residents, but also demonstrate the sustainability and innovation that the Vocational School has in the field of electrical engineering. The residents of Rembes Village welcomed this initiative and felt helped by the presence of the Vokalite lamps. They expressed their gratitude to the lecturers and educational institutions who care about their welfare. Through sustainable community service like this, it is hoped that there will continue to be new innovations that provide direct benefits to society, as well as strengthening the ties between higher education and society.
