Semarang, April 27, 2024 – Diponegoro University hosted a workshop titled “Optimizing Management and Administration of Teaching Factory (TEFA)” as part of the Competitive Fund Program for the Industrial Electrical Engineering Study Program. The event took place over two days, from April 26 to 27, 2024.

The workshop aimed to enhance understanding and skills in the management and administration of Teaching Factories, a crucial aspect of vocational education that connects theory with direct industry practice. The main speakers for this event were Dr. Dadang Kurnia, an expert in educational management, and Prof. Dr. Mochamad Bruri Triyono, M. Pd., who specializes in vocational program management.

Over the course of two days, workshop participants from various backgrounds, including lecturers, administrative staff, and industry practitioners, were invited to delve into key concepts in TEFA management and administration. Dr. Dadang Kurnia discussed the latest strategies in vocational education management, while Prof. Dr. Mochamad Bruri Triyono, M. Pd., focused on human resource management and curriculum management relevant to industry needs.

“This workshop serves as a platform for stakeholders in vocational education to exchange information and experiences in effectively managing TEFA,” stated Dr. Dadang Kurnia in his opening remarks.

In addition to presentation sessions and discussions, the workshop also provided space for participants to collaborate in designing better TEFA development strategies, in line with current and future industry demands.

“With the increasing complexity of industries, the role of TEFA in preparing graduates ready for work is crucial. Through this workshop, it is hoped that we can strengthen the synergy between vocational education and the industrial world,” added Prof. Dr. Mochamad Bruri Triyono, M. Pd.

This workshop is expected to be a significant initial step in strengthening the role of Diponegoro University’s TEFA in supporting the development of high-quality and competitive human resources in the industrial sector.

Semarang, April 26, 2024 – Diponegoro University, Semarang, celebrates a new milestone in vocational education with the inauguration of the Teaching Factory Workshop Building and two new workshops attended by the Rector of Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., as well as other university leaders. The event, held on Friday, April 26, 2024, marks an important moment in the development of industrial electrical engineering education at the university.

The inauguration of the Teaching Factory Workshop Building signifies Diponegoro University’s commitment to enhancing the quality of vocational education that is relevant to the demands of the current industry. This inauguration was warmly welcomed by the Dean of the Vocational School, Prof. Dr. Ir. Budiyono, M.Si., who sees it as a significant milestone in advancing industrial electrical engineering education in the region.

In addition to the inauguration of the main building, two new Industrial Electrical Engineering workshops were also inaugurated, namely the Renewable Energy Workshop and the Microcontroller and Programming Workshop. The presence of these workshops marks a progressive step in facing the increasingly changing challenges of the industry, demanding more specialized skills.

In his speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., stated, “The inauguration of the Teaching Factory Workshop Building and two new workshops is not only an achievement for the university but also for the industry and society. We are committed to producing graduates who are ready to contribute to continuous change.”

Dean of the Vocational School, Prof. Dr. Ir. Budiyono, M.Si., also expressed appreciation for this initiative, stating, “We are very grateful for the support provided by university leadership in the development of vocational education infrastructure. These new workshops will open up broader opportunities for students to acquire knowledge and skills in line with technological advancements.”

The inauguration event was highlighted by demonstrations of innovative products created by students, both in the Renewable Energy Workshop and the Microcontroller and Programming Workshop. Semarang, April 1, 2024 – Industrial Electrical Engineering students from the Vocational School of Diponegoro University actively participate in training and competency certification as main implementers in the field of electrical power installation. This week-long training aims to enhance their understanding of electrical power installation and distribution.

In the era of digitalization and the increasing demand for renewable energy, skills in electrical power installation are becoming increasingly important. Industrial electrical engineering students are expected to have a deep understanding of modern electrical systems and the latest technologies integrated into these installations.

This training is organized by the institution PT.SERTIKOMLIS. The students not only gain theoretical understanding but also practical experience in designing, installing, and maintaining complex electrical power systems.

This training and certification program is part of the 2024 Competitive Fund Program organized by the Directorate General of Vocational Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. This program provides grants for various activities aimed at improving the quality of human resources in the fields of vocational education, research, and technology. One aspect of this program is the provision of training and certification to enhance the skills and competencies of the workforce in various industrial sectors.

Moreover, this training also provides students with the opportunity to connect with industry professionals, build networks, and gain direct insights into the latest trends and developments in the electrical power industry.

Arkhan Subari, S.T., M.Kom., as the Chair of the Industrial Electrical Engineering Study Program, expresses his hope that this training will make a significant contribution to the development of students’ skills and knowledge. “We hope that our students will not only become quality graduates but also professionals ready to compete on the global stage,” he said.

This time, they have donated a sound system for the mosque in Kandangan Hamlet. The mosque in Kandangan Hamlet, which serves as a center for religious and social activities for the village residents, now has better facilities for delivering religious messages and community events. The sound system provided by the lecturers of the Vocational School not only enhances the acoustics in the mosque but also makes it easier for worshippers to listen to sermons and other activities clearly and comfortably. The presence of this sound system is a blessing for the residents of Rembes Village, especially in Kandangan Hamlet, who may have previously struggled to hear sermons or announcements in the mosque. Rembes Village, located in Bringin, Semarang, has been the beneficiary of this extraordinary community service. In an effort to improve the quality of life and illuminate the dark streets in the village, the lecturers developed lamps with advanced but environmentally friendly technology.
