Semarang, March 22, 2024 – A significant step in the world of information technology and communication has been initiated today at Diponegoro University (Undip), with the signing of a cooperation agreement between SV Undip and the renowned Chinese technology company, HORED. The event took place in the main meeting room of the Undip campus and was attended by several key figures from both sides. The event, attended by Mr. Gerry Feng, President Director of HORED, as well as Mr. Jonas, Account VP Sales of HORED, and Mr. Ito from the Engineering department of HORED, along with representatives from Undip, including Prof. Budiyono as the Dean of Vocation at Undip, and Arkhan Subari as the Head of the Industrial Electrical Engineering (TLI), was marked by a strong collaborative spirit in developing new products in the field of information technology. The agreed cooperation will focus on the development of networking devices, particularly switches and routers, which are the backbone of modern information technology infrastructure. Through the combination of expertise and resources between SV Undip and HORED, it is hoped that innovative products that can compete in the global market will emerge. This cooperation agreement not only includes product development but also involves the exchange of knowledge and experience between both parties through joint training programs and workshops. Thus, it is hoped that this collaboration will not only result in excellent products but also enhance the capacity and competitiveness of the workforce in the field of information technology. This time, they have donated a sound system for the mosque in Kandangan Hamlet. The mosque in Kandangan Hamlet, which serves as a center for religious and social activities for the village residents, now has better facilities for delivering religious messages and community events. The sound system provided by the lecturers of the Vocational School not only enhances the acoustics in the mosque but also makes it easier for worshippers to listen to sermons and other activities clearly and comfortably. The presence of this sound system is a blessing for the residents of Rembes Village, especially in Kandangan Hamlet, who may have previously struggled to hear sermons or announcements in the mosque. An encouraging initiative has been carried out by lecturers from the Department of Industrial Electrical Engineering at the Vocational School in Central Java. These dedicated lecturers not only teach classes, but they also make a real contribution to society by creating homemade lamps branded “Vokalite”. Rembes Village, located in Bringin, Semarang, has been the beneficiary of this extraordinary community service. In an effort to improve the quality of life and illuminate the dark streets in the village, the lecturers developed lamps with advanced but environmentally friendly technology. These lamps not only provide bright light, but are also energy efficient, which is very important for rural communities. As part of Diponegoro University’s commitment to improving the quality and accessibility of online information, the Industrial Electrical Engineering Study Program at Vocational School, Undip, has participated in a website mentoring workshop. The event aimed to ensure the consistent implementation of website standardization set by the university. The workshop was held to align all program websites under the umbrella of Vocational School, Undip, with the layout and design established by Undip. In this workshop, staff and lecturers from the Industrial Electrical Engineering Study Program learned about best practices in website development and maintenance, including aspects of design, navigation, and content. The Chairperson of the Industrial Electrical Engineering Study Program, Mr. Arkhan Subari, S.T., M.Kom., expressed that participation in this workshop was a crucial step in ensuring that their program’s website meets the standards set by the university. “We are highly committed to providing the best online experience for users of our website, including prospective students, current students, or other stakeholders,” said Mr. Arkhan Subari, S.T., M.Kom. In addition to ensuring consistency in layout and design, this workshop also provided a better understanding of the importance of updating current news. By regularly updating news, the Industrial Electrical Engineering Study Program can keep their information current and continue to add value for website visitors. Semarang, February 27, 2024 – A visit aimed at broadening the insights and knowledge of students majoring in Industrial Electrical Engineering from the Vocational School of Diponegoro University (Undip) took place today. Initiated by faculty members, the students visited Frogs Indonesia Company, a company engaged in technology and innovation. The group of twenty-five students accompanied by two supervising lecturers arrived at Frogs Indonesia’s headquarters at 9:00 a.m. They were warmly welcomed by the company’s management team, who were ready to guide them on a facility tour and provide in-depth insights into the latest technology industry. During the tour, students were introduced to various aspects of technology used by Frogs Indonesia Company in the development of their innovative products. They had the opportunity to witness firsthand the production process and product design, as well as meet with engineers and technology professionals working at the company. In addition to the facility tour, students were invited to participate in discussion sessions and Q&A sessions with experts and practitioners at Frogs Indonesia Company. They had the opportunity to exchange ideas about the latest trends in the technology industry, challenges faced, and career opportunities in the field. According to Fakhrudin Mangkusasmito, S.T., M.T., one of the supervising lecturers who participated in this visit, “This visit is an important part of our students’ practical education. Through direct interaction with professionals in the industry, students gain a better understanding of how the knowledge and skills they learn in the classroom can be applied in the real world. Hopefully, this visit will provide them with valuable insights into the world of technology industry and motivate students to pursue successful careers in this field. The visit concluded with a group photo session between the students and the management team of Frogs Indonesia Company as a memento. The students returned home with deeper knowledge about the technology industry and fresh inspiration to pursue careers in this field.
